The domestic silicon carbide industry continues to heat up, and three projects have made new progress

In the past two years, the SiC market has increasingly received market attention, including automotive, solar energy, energy storage and other applications have increased the application of silicon carbide.

In view of the superior characteristics of SiC materials, industry customers are full of confidence in the development prospects of SiC, the world's major SiC manufacturers such as Infineon, ST and ON Beauty are aggressively expanding production capacity, and domestic silicon carbide projects are also in full swing. In just over a month from early December 2023 to mid-January 2024, more than a dozen SiC related projects ushered in new progress. Recently, three silicon carbide related projects ushered in new developments.

On February 1, the signing ceremony of the SiC half-bridge module manufacturing project in Jiaxing National High-tech Zone was held. The project is jointly funded by Zhejiang Jingneng Microelectronics Co., Ltd. and the star drive technical team, focusing on the layout of vehicle gauge SiC half-bridge module. The total investment of the project is about 1 billion yuan, and the annual output of 900,000 sets of SiC half-bridge module manufacturing production lines and related supporting facilities are planned.

Recently, the Pinghu City government of Jiaxing, Zhejiang announced the pre-approval announcement of the construction project planning of "annual output of 900,000 power modules, 450,000 PCBA boards and 200,000 motor controllers".

It is disclosed that the project construction unit is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zhen Drive Technology - Zhen Drive Semiconductor (Jiaxing) Co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as Zhen Drive Semiconductor), and Zhen Drive Semiconductor intends to invest about 645 million yuan to build a plant for production and research and development, with a construction area of 45,800 square meters.

Recently, the Sanyou Photoelectric Industrial Park project located in Xiamen Torch High-tech Zone has obtained the completion acceptance certificate.

It is understood that the total investment of Sanyou photoelectric Industrial Park project is about 250 million yuan, with a total construction area of about 47,400 square meters. In addition to integrating the company's existing production lines, the project will also build a new design and development center for 5G carrier network equipment optoelectronic devices, 1200V or more SiC series products, sensing laser light sources, MEMS chip sealing and testing production lines, as well as related supporting infrastructure.
